Paper Abstract
We propose a novel method for the classification of breast tumors (malignant versus benign) based on principal component analysis (PCA) following single-frequency microwave imaging. For initial evaluation, a simplified model of
the biological tissue was developed in a frequency-domain finite-element framework. The model incorporated various combinations of dielectric constant and conductivity. A double-level classification scheme allows classifying a tumor
with high accuracy.
