Paper Abstract
This paper compares linear and non-linear modulation schemes for both bandwidth-limited and power-limited
scenarios. In particular, we discuss the various trade-offs in terms of spectral efficiency, signal-to-noise ratio
requirements and transmission range when selecting a candidate modulation scheme. Examples of the trade-offs
are shown for maximising transmission range in frequency non-selective fading channels.
