Paper Abstract

A high power CO2 laser equipped with an unstable resonator with a phase-unifying output coupler has been developed to produce highly focusing beam. A linear polarized, diffraction-limited beam of 5kW with divergence angle of 0.6 mrad has been extracted stably from a laser excited by a high-frequency silent discharge.
