Controlled interaction of modes in waveguide structures on base crystals with optical activity

Paper Abstract

In the work a planar device based on single crystal Bi12SiO20 for controlling the light was studied. The direction of the light propagation in the layers of Bi12SiO20 and orientation of external electric field for high efficient mode conversion has been chosen. Characteristics of the device had been determined through mode analysis of this waveguide structure.
