Nonlinear optical properties of new molecular crystals

Paper Abstract

P-p'-dioxydiphenylsulpfone, p-nitro-p'-methylbenzylidenaniline, 3-metoxy-4- oxybenzaldehyde crystals are obtained of high optical quality. Refraction index dispersion, nonlinear susceptibility tensor components values, and symmetry classes are determined. It is shown that the crystals posses high nonlinear susceptibility along with a wide range of transparency and high laser damage threshold. A new method of nonlinear susceptibility measurements is considered.
