Fusion splicer

Fujikura Europe

The number and type of optical fibres for fusion splicing applications is rapidly increasing and being diversified beyond telecommunication and into fibre lasers for the medical, defence, space and transportation sectors, according to Fujikura Europe.

Fujikura Europe has invested significantly in research and development to create its latest speciality splicer to address these markets. The FSM-100P+ has many new features helping to drive this trend.

The FSM-100P+ provides advanced capabilities suitable for fibre lasers, sensors, research and development and the medical field. These features include the innovative end-view fibre observation system; XLDF (extra-large diameter fibre up to 1200um) splicing capacity using Plasma Zone Path Modulation; patented Split V-groove clamping systems; enhanced sweep ARC technology and other features for glass processing and fibre tapering.

Fujikura Europe will showcase the FSM-100P+ at SPIE Optics + Optoelectronics 15-18 April 2013, in Prague.
