CMOS flat x-ray detector

With a 30 x 28cm (12" x 11") field- of- view, 8.3 megapixels, 100 µm pixel resolution and the capability to output 14-bit images at 30fps over a CameraLink (Full) interface, the Shad-o-Box 3028HS detector from Teledyne DALSA is designed to meet the imaging requirements of the most demanding X-ray applications. Featuring low-noise readout and high X-ray sensitivity, the remarkable Noise Equivalent Dose performance of this detector allows it to detect the most delicate of features.

Designed from the ground-up for high-speed, high-resolution industrial X-ray applications, the Shad-o-Box 3028HS delivers full-resolution 30 fps operation. For even faster image capture, the detector can also be operated in 2x2 binning mode at up to 60 fps.

Existing CMOS imaging solutions in the market evolved from low frame rate panels, whereas the Shad-o-Box 3028HS provides dynamic, 30 fps imaging out of the box at a competitive price. The low-noise, distortion-free imaging at full video rates is far superior to similar-sized image intensifier (II) and amorphous silicon (a-Si) based solutions. With it's unmatched active area and speed, this detector offers an attractive image size and resolution for industrial CT applications, including the inspection of circuit boards, machine components, and manufactured parts as well as dimensional verification and failure analysis.
