Publication charges of $90 per published page apply to all papers. Editorial acceptance is not contingent on publication charge support; however, unsupported papers require full subsidization by SPIE. While voluntary, these financial contributions help defray the cost of publishing research results and should be regarded as an essential and proper part of research budgets. Online-only journals
Publication charges of $300 per article for articles up to 10 pages in length plus $50 per page thereafter apply to all papers. Editorial acceptance is not contingent on publication charge support; however, unsupported papers require full subsidization by SPIE. While voluntary, these financial contributions help defray the cost of publishing research results and should be regarded as an essential and proper part of research budgets.

Open Access
SPIE offers authors the option to pay a fee of $1500 to provide free online access to the full text of their published journal article, in perpetuity, to any online user, independent of any subscriptions to the journal. Payment of the open access fee covers regular page charges but does not cover other publication charges, such as charges for reprints or color printing. To select open access, please return the Open Access Publication Form with payment to SPIE either before or at the time of author proof corrections.
Reprints
After an accepted paper has been typeset, a reprint order form will be provided with the final proof. If authors choose to order reprints, the minimum order is 100 copies. Reprints can also be ordered after publication by completing and returning the above order form.
