SPIE Corporate Member Edmund Optics recently announced its awards for 2011 recognizing outstanding undergraduate and graduate optics programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) at non-profit college and universities.
The awards are made annually to universities in the Americas, Asia, and Europe, helping to advance photonics and STEM education around the world. Winning schools receive Edmund Optics products that can contribute to current research at each school.
First-place recipients in 2011 were Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (Peru), Tohoku University (Japan), and Technische Universität Ilmenau (Germany).

Edmund Optics will be exhibiting new products and presenting its latest research at SPIE Photonics West 2012.
