The Society offers a small number of contingency student travel grants to qualifying and selected students who need a supplement to their travel support to present an accepted paper at any SPIE meeting.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be a full-time student (post-doctoral students do not qualify)
- Be a valid student member of SPIE at the time of application
- Be an author who will present an accepted paper at an SPIE conference
- Not have received SPIE funding in the past 12 months
- Submit written support from the Conference Chair of the conference in which your paper will be presented*
- Submit one letter of recommendation from your department head or advisor
- Submit the application form and other required documents no later than 10 weeks prior to the 1st day of the meeting
* The Conference Chair must indicate that your presentation will contribute significant value to the conference
If you are a Student Member of SPIE, you are eligible to apply for scholarships to help with tuition and related expenses.
