FACILITY/VENUE AND SERVICES


LASER 2007 and the World of Photonics Congress, of which the European Conferences on Biomedical Optics are a part, takes place in Hall B and the surrounding conference rooms. The main entrance where you will also find the registration areas for all societies and the exhibition is situated in the "Eingang/Entrance West".


Internet Services

Internet Services will be available to all conference attendees in the conference building.
 

Catering

Coffee Breaks will take place on Monday from 16.00 - 16.30, and on all other conference days from 10.00 - 10.30 and 16.00 - 16.30. There is no lunch provided, but a number of catering outlets and restaurants are available.


Luggage and cloakroom

Luggage storage and cloakroom are available on the lower level of Entrance West. The fee is €1.50 per piece. Alternatively, there are lockers that can be rented for the day at a cost of €1.00.


Audiovisual Information for Speakers

The presentation mode is that of a preload mechanism run by the company m-Events in Munich. Authors will be contacted by this company with exact instructions on how to upload their presentations and e-posters. The meeting rooms will contain the relevant equipment to carry out a centralised screening process. Any questions regarding compatibility would need to be directed to m-Events.


Registration Counter

The ECBO registration counter and chair check-in desk are located in Eingang/Entrance West.

PASSPORT AND VISA


A valid passport is required. Entry clearance requirements are dependent on the citizenship of the applicant. Citizens of many countries (including EU member countries and the USA) do not need a visa to visit Germany for stays of up to 90 days.

POLICIES


Audio/Video/Digital Recording Policy

Due to copyright restrictions, no recordings of any kind are permitted without prior written consent of the presenter in any conference session, short course or poster sessions. Consent forms are available at the SPIE Europe Registration Desk and anyone wishing to record must have a written consent form signed and filed for each presenter being recorded. Individuals not complying with this policy will be asked to leave a given session and asked to surrender their film or recording media.


Refunds

There is a €35 service charge for processing refunds. A letter requesting the refund should state the registrant's name and to whom the check should be made payable. Requests for preregistration refunds must be received no later than 7 business days prior to the first day of the meeting to be honored.


Laser Safety Policy

SPIE supplies tested and safety approved laser pointers for all conference meeting rooms, and for short course rooms if instructors request one. For safety reasons, SPIE requests that presenters use the laser pointers provided in each meeting room.
