SPIE Defense, Security, and Sensing

SPIE Defense, Security, and Sensing -- the world's largest unclassified event for defense, security, industrial applications, and the environment -- is moving to Baltimore Inner Harbor in 2012 to provide closer connections with key funders and decision-makers in the defense industry.

Gen.  Bruce Carlson, director of the National Reconnaissance Office, will give this year's plenary talk. Banquet speaker Paul Kaminski of Technovation will be awarded the Defense, Security, and Sensing Lifetime Achievement Award.

Among other highlights of the week are:

  • Three-day exhibition 25-27 April, with 540 exhibiting companies
  • Product launches and demonstrations each day of the exhibition
  • Special sessions on government funding and DARPA programs
  • 2,400+ technical presentations, in conference tracks on topics including:
    • IR technologies

    • micro- and nanosensor technologies

  • 6,000 attendees.
