    CONFERENCE REGISTRATION FEES

    Pre-Registration Pricing and Dates
    Conference registration prices increase by $150 USD and student pricing increases $50 USD after TBD 2015. The online form will automatically display the increased prices.

    All online charges are made in US dollars at the current exchange rate.

    Conference Registration Includes:
    Admission to all conference sessions, plenaries, panels and workshops, technical group meetings, and poster sessions
    Welcome Reception and other social/networking events
    Lunches Monday and Tuesday
    Coffee breaks
    A choice of proceedings, printed or CD (excluding student registrations)

    Authors needing a VISA to Attend
    Individuals requiring Letter of Acceptance to obtain travel visas to attend are advised to submit their abstracts early. The organizing committee will review the submissions to determine acceptance. Once this is complete, you will receive an early notification regarding your submission. Apply for your visa as soon as possible, and no later than 3 months before the meeting.

    Course and Workshop Registration
    Courses and workshops are priced separately.
    Course-only registration includes your selected course(s), course notes, coffee breaks, and admittance to the exhibition.
    Course prices increase $75 after TBD 2014.
    Course prices include applicable taxes.
    Onsite, please go to Course Materials Pickup after you pick up your badge.
    Allow yourself enough time to register, pick up your materials and possibly walk to a nearby facility before your course begins.

    SPIE Member, SPIE Student Member + Student Pricing
    SPIE Members receive conference and course registration discounts. Discounts are applied at the time of registration.
    SPIE Student Members receive a 50% discount on all courses.
    Student registration rates are available only to undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled full time and have not yet received their Ph.D. Post-docs may not register as students. A student ID number or proof of student status is required with your registration.

    Registration Area. Open during registration hours

     • Registration Payments 
    If you are paying by cash or check as part of your onsite registration, wish to add a course, workshop, or special event requiring payment, or have questions regarding your registration, visit the SPIE Cashier.
     • Receipts and Certificate of Attendance
    Preregistered attendees who did not receive a receipt may obtain one at Badge Corrections and Receipts next to SPIE Cashier. Attendees who need a Certificate of Attendance may obtain those from the SPIE Cashier.
     • Badge Corrections
    Badge corrections can be made at the Badge Corrections station. Please have your badge removed from the badge holder and marked with your changes before approaching the counter.

    Refund Information
    There is a $50 USD service charge for processing refunds. Requests for refunds must be received by 24 April 2014; all registration fees will be forfeited after this date. Membership dues, SPIE Digital Library subscriptions or Special Events purchased are not refundable.


    U.S. Government Credit Cards
    U.S. Government credit card users: have your purchasing officer contact the credit card company and get prior authorization before attempting to register. Advise your purchasing agent that SPIE is considered a 5968 company for authorization purposes.


    EVENT POLICIES

    Read SPIE Event Policies

    Audio, Video, Digital Recording Policy
    In the Meeting Rooms and Poster Sessions: For copyright reasons, recordings of any kind are strictly prohibited without prior written consent of the presenter in any conference session, short course or of posters presented. Each presenter being taped must file a signed written consent form. Individuals not complying with this policy will be asked to leave a given session and asked to surrender their film or recording media. Consent forms are available at the SPIE Registration Desk.

    Laser Pointer Safety Information
    SPIE supplies tested and safety approved laser pointers for all conference meeting rooms, and for short course rooms if instructors request one. For safety reasons, SPIE requests that presenters use our provided laser pointers available in each meeting room.

    If using your personal laser pointer:

    • Please have it tested at your facility to make sure it has

    • We require that you to come to the Audiovisual Desk onsite and test you pointer on our power meter. If the pointer fails the safe power level you may not use the pointer at the conference. You will be required to sign a waiver releasing SPIE of any liability for use of potentially non-safe laser pointers.

    • Use of a personal laser pointer at an SPIE event represents user's acceptance of liability for use of a non-SPIE supplied laser pointer device. Misuse of any laser pointer could lead to eye damage. In California, it is a criminal misdemeanor to shine a laser pointer at individuals "who perceive they are at risk."

    Unauthorized Solicitation
    Any manufacturer or supplier who is not an attendee or sponsor and is observed to be soliciting business in the building will be asked to leave immediately. Unauthorized solicitation is prohibited.

    Unsecured Items
    Personal belongings such as laptops, briefcases, backpacks, coats, book bags, etc. should not be left unattended in meeting rooms or public areas.  These items will be subject to removal by security upon discovery.
