Responses to PV Balance of System Request for Information Due

Department of Energy
18 January 2011

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Program wants feedback from the solar industry and relevant stakeholders to assist in the development of a potential Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) to reduce photovoltaic (PV) balance of system (BOS) costs. DOE may decide to issue a FOA based on the input received from this Request for Information (RFI).

This is an opportunity for the solar community to comment on potential research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) topics to be addressed in the FOA, including the level of federal resources that should be devoted to each topic and the opportunities for cost reductions. Topics under consideration include building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) concepts, roof and ground mount innovations, software design tools/innovations, and BOS transformational concepts.

Comments must be received by January 31, 2011.
