Laser therapy

Laser therapy typically uses low-level lasers or light-emitting diodes to alter cell function, although other technologies such as OCT-guided lasers and laser-excited nanoparticles have also been applied. Laser therapy has been used for short-term treatment of muscle injuries, arthritis, and nerve and joint disorders, since it can be used similar to acupuncture. Laser-based photodynamic and photothermal therapy have been applied to removal of hair and skin pigmentation such as tattoos, vitiligo or birthmarks, and other cosmetic applications. Oncology uses laser therapy techniques for diagnosis and treatment of cancers.
