Scope designed for micro part inspection

Optical Gaging Products

Optical Gaging Products (OGP®) introduces the new SmartScope® Apex Micro precision dimensional measurement system to the industrial marketplace. Apex Micro is a floor model fixed optics system, and features a state-of-the-art digital camera and digital zoom. The Apex Micro recently exhibited at IMTS 2010 was equipped with an OGP Feather Probe™ micro-probe with a 0.005" stylus and a TTL high accuracy laser for detailed high-resolution micro-measuring. A high-precision HPR air bearing rotary indexer with 1 arc-second accuracy mounted at a 33° angle demonstrated measurement of fuel injector nozzles with 0.009" diameter holes.

Like other OGP SmartScope systems, the Apex Micro excels at video measurement. Its digital zoom offers multiple magnifications, and a wide range of long working distance optical objectives are available. There are multiple system illumination sources, including the patented white LED SmartRing™ light, coaxial (TTL) white surface light, and green LED back light. Apex Micro is multisensor-ready, with available touch trigger probes for tactile measurement of hard-to-image part features, laser or the Rainbow Probe™ scanning white light sensor for non-contact surface contouring, or the unique Feather Probe micro-probe sensor, that can acquire data points with only milligrams of probing pressure.
