    Robert Boyd is inaugural Canada Excellence Research Chair in Quantum Nonlinear Optics

    Robert Boyd, former M. Parker Givens Professor of Optics at the Univ. of Rochester, has been named the inaugural Canada Excellence Research Chair in Quantum Nonlinear Optics at the Univ. of Ottawa.

    Boyd is a Member of SPIE and has presented over 30 papers at numerous SPIE meetings, most recently at SPIE Photonics Europe. He has served on numerous conference program committees, including the conference on Nanophotonic Materials at SPIE Optics and Photonics.

    The Canada Excellence Research Chair program was designed to draw accomplished scientists to Canada and develop ambitious research programs that fit with the federal government's science and technology strategy.
