David L. Begley, owner and president of David Begley, LLC passed away January 18, 2010 at his home in Colorado.
Begley became an SPIE Fellow of the Society in 1997 for specific achievements in the area of space-based laser communications technologies and fieldable hardware for civil, commercial, and military applications. He chaired numerous conferences for SPIE during his career, including serving as Chair for the Annual Meeting of the SPIE in 2004 in Denver, Colorado. Begley also ran for Director of the Society in 2008.
Begley leaves behind three children.
