Hans A. Buchdahl, Emeritus Professor of Theoretical Physics at the Australian National Univerity, passed away on January 7, 2010.
Buchdahl won the SPIE A.E. Conrady Award in 1997 in "recognition of exceptional contributions in design, construction, and testing of optical systems and instrumentation, without which the technology would not have progressed to its present state."
Buchdahl leaves behind a wife and two children.
