    Travel to Strasbourg

Not only is Strasbourg a majestic city with beautiful architecture and fine cuisine, it is also a business centre and home to the European Parliament. Today, it is also at the centre of the French-German Eurodistrict Strasbourg-Ortenau, a cross-border administrative entity sharing common institutions. Building on cooperation, it aims to develop bonds between citizens, associations, public administrations, education establishments and corporations. All aspects of Sustainability are high on the Eurodistrict's agenda and, with this in mind, Strasbourg is ready to welcome attendees of SPIE's Eco-Photonics 2011.

There are a variety of means to travel to Strasbourg, by air direct from Paris, Amsterdam, and various French airports, a number of TGV connections from London, Paris, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and the south of France, as well as a bus transfer from Frankfurt/Main Airport in Germany. Travel to the Conference Venue

Tram is the most popular, most effective and by all means the most comfortable way of transport in Strasbourg. Four tram lines (A, B C and D) connect all corners of the city and make city traffic more fluid. Lines A, B and C operate from Monday to Sunday from 4.30 till 0.30 while the line D operates every day except Sunday, from 7.00 till 19.00. Route B heading to Hoenheim Gare will take you to the stops “Wacken” or “Rives de L’Aar”, and the congress centre is between them. Route B will also take you back into the city centre, heading to Elsau/Lingolsheim.
