SPIE CEO to testify on impact of China technology on U.S. economy

BELLINGHAM, Wash., USA -- 19 March 2009 -- SPIE CEO Eugene Arthurs is one of three speakers on a nanotechnology and optoelectronics panel scheduled to testify at a U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission hearing next week in Washington, DC.

The panel is one of five planned for a 24 March hearing on "China's Industrial Policy and its Impact on U.S. Companies, Workers, and the American Economy." The hearing will examine China's pillar and strategic industries, telecommunications and information technology industries, nanotechnology and optoelectronics industries, and use of incentives to attract foreign investment into certain of those industries.
