Tolley to head Infotonics Technology Center

The Infotonics Technology Center, a former Xerox Corp. printer plant turned high-tech business incubator in Canandaigua, NY, has a new leader to help push its newest incarnation as a contract manufacturer.

Paul R. Tolley, vice president and general manager at Rochester plastic optics company Syntec Optics, will start Monday as CEO of the Infotonics facility. Tolley said his first job will be marketing the center's high-tech manufacturing capabilities to companies around the globe to make the state-supported nonprofit facility self-sufficient and to help generate local high-tech jobs.

Tolley serves on the steering committee of Optifab, the biannual event in Rochester organized jointly by SPIE and APOMA. Optifab 2009 will be held 11-14 May 2009, in conjunction with the largest optical manufacturing product and supplier exhibition held in the United States.
