Schott unveils new LED lamps

SCHOTT North America announced the launch of several new products: the Surface Mount Device (SMD) and the Chip on Board (COB), the SCHOTT KL 200 LED and EasyLED Ringlight Plus cold light engine, and the LLS LED Light Source (LLS).

The Surface Mount Device (SMD) and the Chip on Board (COB) both integrate MayTec profile grooves into their housings, allowing for flexible mounting onto production lines.

An acrylic cylindrical lens on the SMD can be adjusted to modify the working distance from 50-100 mm. This enables it to generate a focused light source with an illuminance of 400 kLux and homogeneity of plus or minus 5 percent in the plateau level. The COB has an illuminance of up to 200 kLux.

The KL 200 LED is a fiber optic cold light source that contains an LED light engine that is actually brighter than a 20 watt halogen bulb, while using 80 percent less energy (5 W vs. 25 W). The LED light engine offers a brighter, neutral 5300 K white light; continuous dimming (0-100) and a separate on/off switch. Fan-less design makes the EasyLED Ringlight Plus quiet, vibration-free, and suitable for both clean room and rougher laboratory or industrial environments.

The LLS runs on less than 15 watts of power and has a lifetime of 50,000 hours. Fast-strobing capabilities include a pulse rate up to a maximum 1 kHz, and a maximum pulse width of 1 msec.
