Safe Driving Camera System

DriveCam Inc. has created the Drivecam, a camera system for monitoring safe driving patterns. The camera may be installed in personal or commercial vehicles for monitoring driving practices. The camera contains two CMOS image sensing cameras, a three-axis accelerometer, and a video-optimized integrated circuit that incorporates a DSP core and an ARM core. Data is recorded on 256mb of on-board Flash memory.

The camera continuously records, but the data is deleted unless unsafe driving patterns cause the system to save an event. Accelerating too quickly or turning too sharply will trigger the device. At night, all recorded events are uploaded to the company's servers where they may be analyzed to determine if the driving behavior was risky enough to contact the client.
