Shin-Tson Wu honored by Society for Information Display

SPIE Member Dr. Shin-Tson Wu from the University of Central Florida has been announced as the winner of the Jan Rajchman Prize from the Society for Information Display for his exceptional contributions to liquid-crystal display science and technology, especially display device physics, electro-optic effects and materials.

Wu was recently announced as the winner of the SPIE G.G. Stokes Award for his research in liquid crystal displays, adaptive-focus lenses and optical polarization. The award is given annually for exceptional contribution to the field of optical polarization.

Wu has chaired three conferences for SPIE, most recently Liquid Crystals: Optics and Applications at the European Congress on Optics and Optoelectronics. He is on the program committee of Emerging Liquid Crystal Technologies at Photonics West, and has presented more than 30 papers at SPIE conferences over the last two decades.
