Biography
Actively involved in education and research in the area of Photonics. Current research interests: Photonic Crystal Fibers, Photonic Bandgap Devices, Optical Fiber Amplifiers, Multiple access techniques in Optical Communication Systems and networks, Quantum Computing and Information theory. Dr. Sinha enjoys teaching Applied Physics and Fiber Optics. He supervised over 10 R&D projects in Optical Communications area and four Ph.D. theses related to the general area of Photonics and Optoelectronic Devices. Awarded "Optoelectronics Technology Award (IETE-CEOT)-2006 for outstanding research in Nano-Photonics," Best Research Paper award " IETE S.K. Mitra Memorial Award-2004 in the area of Nano-scale Electron Waveguide Devices" and Golden Jublee Award from National Academy of Science for best research paper on Nanelectronic Devices -2002.
