Mr. Bilbro has over thirty-five years of engineering and management experience in research and technology development. His expertise includes the development of technologies associated with optical fabrication and test and the development and application of Coherent LIDAR systems. He has authored/coauthored over 70 papers and is co-holder of a patent on the application of Doppler LIDARs to aircraft wake vortex tracking. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University in 1969, a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1977 and completed course work and residency requirements for a PhD in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona in 1983. Mr. Bilbro is a past president and fellow of the SPIE, the International Society for Optical Engineering. He is a member of the Optical Society of America, the American Society of Precision Engineers and the Huntsville Electro-Optical Society.
