SPIE has distributed over $2 million in awards through its scholarship program and will be awarding $262,500 in scholarships to students in 2008.
In addition to SPIE's scholarships program, the Society offers a number of student travel grants to qualifying and selected students. These funds are available through a competitive selection process to students who need to supplement their travel support to present an accepted paper at any official SPIE conference. Newport Spectra-Physics has partnered with SPIE to make additional funding available through the travel grant process for students with an accepted paper at Optics & Photonics or Photonics West.
