The NSF-funded Engineering Research Center for Integrated Access Networks (CIAN) will host a paid summer research program at 5 of our partnering universities: University of Arizona, Colombia, University of California Los Angeles, Berkeley, and San Diego. SPIE is offering grants to encourage the global network of SPIE Student Chapters to organize public outreach events during LaserFest, the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the laser. Chapters are invited to submit an application for funding to support their proposed outreach activities.
A member of the Tec de Monterrey SPIE Student Chapter has started a community service project that consists of taking scientific experiments to kids from elementary school.
