Course Cancellation

Right to Cancel

SPIE reserves the right to cancel a short course in the event of insufficient advance registration. Should your course have low pre-registration, we will contact you approximately 10 to 14 days prior to the meeting to discuss the possibility of cancellation or contract renegotiation.

Airfare Cancellation Fee Reimbursement

In the event it is necessary for SPIE to cancel your course, SPIE will cover a reasonable airfare cancellation fee. A copy of your receipt will be required. Please contact John Cain at johnc@spie.org to make the necessary arrangements.

A "Green Lab" program supported by SPIE at the Pennsylvania State Univ. Electro-Optics Center gives high-school students lab experience in analyzing power consumption incandescent, compact fluorescent, and LED lighting sources.

"The lab inspires students to think about the environment and the economy," said Jim Einsporn of the Penn State project. "Students discover first-hand the amount of energy used in each source, and the long-term costs of each."
