Nominate a Colleague for Outstanding Achievements

SPIE presents several awards that recognize outstanding individual and team technical accomplishments and meritorious service to the Society.

Nominations for an SPIE Award may be made through October 1 of any given year and are considered active for three years from the submission date.

Please note there has been a change to the submission date for the Britton Chance Biomedical Optics Award and the Biophotonics Technology Innovator Award.  The submission date for nomination packets has been changed to July 1st effective this year, 2015.  Nominations submitted after that date will not be be considered until the following year.

For the Joseph W. Goodman Book Writing Award, please follow the link below for nomination criteria on this award.  This award is presented biannually.

Nominations must be accompanied by the following:

Completed award nomination form.

Brief citation stating the accomplishments that make the nominee deserving of this particular award.

A one-page narrative description of the significant aspects of the nominee's career.

Curriculum vitae listing educational background, positions held, publications, awards, honors, activities and offices held within the Society.

A minimum of two (2) letters of reference from other than the nominator. Diversity of support is preferred; not all letters of recommendation should come from nominee's organization.
