Meeting Coordinator

SPIE seeks a full-time Meeting Coordinator to coordinate & plan small meetings of 250+ people with multiple events. Support 3 meeting managers on larger association conferences. Assist in running the audiovisual service desk at events, including coordinating temp staffing. We are a fast paced, team based & multi-task environment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs & travel 5 to 7 weeks per year. Requires BA & 2 years meeting planning experience. The ideal candidate has experience coordinating logistics for multiple meetings running consecutively such as seminars, training sessions & educational events.

We are seeking a full-time qualified editor to provide editorial/production and quality control functions for scholarly technical books, both print and electronic, including editing, proofing, communication with editors/authors/reviewers, review and production tracking, and coordination with composition, printing, and online publishing vendors. This position requires strong editorial and communication skills; ability to successfully coordinate/organize projects and function well under multiple deadlines; ability to work independently and make logical, well-informed decisions; knowledge of technical editing and industry standard style manuals. Qualifications include a BA or BS in English/journalism, math/science, or a comparable discipline, and at least two years publishing experience.

Coordinator works with in-house team to strategize, plan, develop, promote & support exhibitions & sponsorships.
