Mather will donate portion of Nobel money to endow fellowship

SPIE Fellow John C. Mather, winner of the 2006 Nobel Prize in Physics, will donate $300,000 of his $700,000 share of the prize to the Hertz Foundation, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.
