Summary
Jiajiu Zheng is a research assistant currently pursuing Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. He received his M.S. in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2015 and his B.S. in Optoelectronic and Information Engineering from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing, China, in 2012. Zheng’s research interests include but are not limited to hybrid silicon photonics, optical interconnect, optical computing, and nanophotonics. Particularly, his current research focuses on phase-change materials integrated silicon photonics for applications in non-volatile reprogrammable photonic integrated circuits (i.e. optical FPGA) and non-von Neumann computing. Previously, Zheng worked on self-electro-optic bistability devices, van der Waals metasurfaces, cavity enhanced PL and SHG from 2D materials, on-chip graphene photodetectors, photo-induced effects, nonlinearity, and plasmonics, cavity enhanced optical sensing, and so on. He is a recipient of National Scholarship of China from 2009-2010.
