Spagnolo Vincenzo received the Phd in physics, in 1994 from University of Bari. From 1997 to 1999 he worked as researcher of the National Institute of the Physics of Matter (INFM). Since September 2015 he works as associate Professor of Physics at the Technical University of Bari. His research interests include quantum cascade lasers, spectroscopic techniques for real-time device monitoring, optoacoustic gas sensors. His research activity is documented by more than 160 publications in peer reviewed journals and international conferences attracting over 1900 citations, and 2 filed patents. He has given more than 40 invited presentations at international conferences and workshops.
He is the director of the joint-research Lab PolySense created by THORLABS GmbH and Technical University of Bari and devoted to the development and implementation of novel gas sensing techniques and the realization of highly sensitive QEPAS trace-gas sensors.
He is a SPIE senior member.
