I am a versatile mechanical engineer with a strong background in optics and physics and over 15 years of experience in the aerospace industry, primarily in the areas of electro-optical sensors and systems design.
As a National Research Associate at the Spacecraft Research and Design Center at the Naval Post Graduate School I modeled deep atmospheric turbulence for high energy laser propagation, performed optical alignment and calibration for the diffracted beam mode spatial light modulator and presented simulation development and experimental progress. Phd research: Designed, built, aligned, calibrated and evaluated a proof-of-concept microscope that reconstructs the 3D temperature distribuition of a fluid from scanned holograms and provides phase imaging within the transparent regions of the specimen. The miscroscope consisted of over 60 optical components. I also designed, built and evaluated a unique untrasound holographic diagnostic instrument to detect prostrate cancer and wrote the holographic image processing software for 3D tomographic reconstruction given restricted viewing geometry.
