Profile
Summary
I have over 14 years of experience in basic research, development, and engineering of state-of-the-art electro-optical and cryogenic systems for astrophysical telescopes and remote sensing instruments covering the electromagnetic spectrum from the far-Infrared/submillimeter to X-ray and gamma-ray wavelengths. I define and lead projects for NASA, NRAO, NSF, and others in the areas of single-photon detectors, electronic readout circuits, low-noise cryogenic amplifiers, integral field spectrometers, quasi-optical systems, and designing testing environments for space applications. Some of the specific technologies that I develop include superconducting Kinetic Inductance Detectors, TES bolometers, quantum-limited parametric amplifiers, heterodyne SIS receivers, microwave SQUID multiplexing circuits, and on-chip superconducting submillimeter spectrometers. I also spend a significant amount of time on science community services in the US and abroad including planning future instruments, writing and reviewing proposals, and establishing collaborations for developing new instrument concepts for future telescopes and remote sensing satellites.
