Performed label-free multiphoton (second and third harmonic generation (SHG, THG), autofluorescence (TPEF)) and labelled fluorescence microscopy imaging of fresh/ex-vivo unfixated/fixated and postmortem animal and human tissues. Continuous 24 hour tissue imaging experiments to achieve maximum information from unique samples.
Acquired, prepared (slicing, fluorescent staining), developed imaging protocols and imaged: human brain tissues (normal, epilepsy, tumor, Alzheimer, cultured), epidermis, dermis, adipose/fat tissue, liposuction material (fat grafts), keloid and hypertrophic scars, ear/nose/knee/artificial cartilage, bone, breast tumor and animal tissues.
Communicated with hospital clinicians (pathologists, surgeons, physicians, laboratory technicians) to design, write and approve clinical protocols for human material acquisition, imaging and histological processing.
Designed, assembled and tested multiphoton microendoscopy systems using optical fibers, GRIN microlens etc. for human tissue imaging.
Assessed natural diamonds, HPHT-treated natural diamonds, untreated and oxygen-implanted synthetic diamonds (Ia, Ib, IIa, IIb), carbon materials (nanotubes, fullerenes, graphene, super-hard carbon materials) with 4Cs (color, clarity, cut, and carat weight), visible and infrared absorption spectroscopy (grating spectrometers, vacuum FTIR), UV Raman and fluorescence spectroscopy with home-built multi-wavelength laser system at room, liquid nitrogen and liquid helium temperatures (using closed-cycle cryostat).
