Summary
Francesco Danzi is a PhD candidate in Aerospace Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. From April 2016 to August 2017 he was visiting scholar at Purdue University, where he joined the Advanced Dynamics and Mechanics Group at Herrick Laboratories. His research interests cover multidisciplinary optimization and nonlinear dynamic with emphasis on aeroelasticity and energy harvesting from ambient vibrations.
In March 2017, he was awarded with the 2nd Place Best Student paper award at SPIE SS/NDE with his paper entitled "Topology Synthesis of Planar Ground Structures for Energy Harvesting Applications". In June 2017 he was selected as finalist at the AIAA Aviation forum with a paper dealing with aeroelastic tailoring and material selection of composite wings.
