Summary
Daisy Shearer is a physics PhD student at the University of Surrey working primarily within the Photonics and Quantum Sciences group at the Advanced Technology Institute (ATI). Her project is currently focused on the initialization of spin states in InSb qubits through the use of quantum point contacts.

She holds an integrated Master's degree in Physics with first-class honours from the University of Surrey (2014-2018). Her research project involved working in R&D at the Centre for Integrated Photonics (now part of Huawei Research and Development UK) developing High-Speed Electroabsorption Modulated Lasers (EMLs) for long-haul telecommunications.
