Summary
Anna Khimchenko, PhD (Dr. sc. med.), is a postdoctoral research fellow conducting interdisciplinary, translational research in the Tearney Laboratory at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital & Harvard Medical School. She is currently focused on evolving micro-optical coherence tomography (μOCT) imaging capabilities to address the needs of the cystic fibrosis (CF) community. Dr. Khimchenko is using the high-resolution imaging capabilities of μOCT—capable of providing real-time, cellular resolution images of the airways—combined with advanced particle-tracking microrheology to gather crucial information on the detailed functional microanatomy of the pulmonary system.
With Dr. sc. med. degree in Biomedical Engineering (University of Basel, Basel, Switzerland) and MSc degrees in Biomedical Engineering (University of Bern, Bern, Switzerland) and Medical Acoustic (National Technical University of Ukraine "KPI", Kiev, Ukraine), she has a deep understanding of multifaceted problems that healthcare industry encounters in their daily operations.
