Video: Zeev Zalevsky -- Super-resolution to sensing

Nanoparticle-based devices enable diverse applications in fields from biophotonics to homeland security.

Zeev Zalevsky is a professor at Bar Ilan University (Israel), as well as director of the Electro-Optics study program at Bar-Ilan's Faculty of Engineering, and director of the Nanophotonics Center at the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials (BINA). His work spans multiple areas of photonics, including optical super resolution, nanophotonics and silicon photonics, in-fiber devices and microwave photonics.

He received his PhD in Optoelectronics (1996) from Tel Aviv University, and has published more than 400 research papers and coauthored five books. He is the holder of more than 50 patents, and has been involved in several startup companies.

Zalevsky is a Fellow of SPIE. He has received numerous awards, including the ICO Prize (2008) and the 2012 Young Nanotechnology Researcher by the Israel National Nanotechnology Initiative.
