Laser diodes

eagleyard Photonics

As part of the CATS (Cloud Aerosol Transport System) project, fiber coupled laser diodes manufactured by eagleyard Photonics landed successfully on board at the International Space Station after the successful launch of SpaceX on 10th of January 2015.

The eagleyard DFB 1064 laser diodes are used as a seed source component for an integrated light detection and ranging (LiDAR) remote sensing instrument.

The laser diode delivers three laser outputs at 1064 nm, 532 nm and 355 nm (2nd and 3rd harmonics of 1064 nm) to derive properties of cloud and aerosol layers. Eagleyard's laser diodes are also suitable for applications such as water vapor DIAL remote sensing.

Eagleyard Photonics will showcase the DFB 1064 laser diodes at SPIE Photonics West 2015, 10-12 February, in San Francisco.
