| Vytran to Demo Equipment at Photonics West 09
Vytran, an innovative supplier of fiber fusion splicing, assembly and glass processing solutions, will demonstrate its high-performance optical fiber splicing and processing equipment at Photonics West 2009 from January 27th through 29th in San Jose, California. The company will also show its products at the associated Biomedical Optics Exhibition (BiOS) on January 24th and 25th. Vytran’s equipment is used to enhance R&D efforts and maximize production throughput in markets ranging from telecommunications and fiber laser to sensing, aerospace and medical.
“We’ll be running application demos on the Photonics West exhibition floor,” said Jean-Michel Pelaprat, Vytran president and CEO. “Attendees will be able to watch high-precision filament fusion splicing, glass processing, large-diameter fiber cleaving and recoating in real time. It will give them the chance to see first hand how our equipment could improve their R&D, high-volume manufacture and custom fabrication applications and to discuss solutions for their fiber applications.”
Vytran’s current product lineup includes fully integrated workstation and individual process tools for fiber stripping, cleaning, cleaving, splicing, recoating and testing. At Photonics West, the company will demonstrate:
-A GPX–3400 glass processing platform for creating splices, tapers, couplers and combiners on optical fibers up to 1.5-mm diameter.
-An FFS–2000 integrated fusion splicing workstation for high-performance splicing in volume production and other demanding applications.
-An LDC–200–G fully automated precision fiber cleaver that can produce flat and angled cleaves on large diameter fibers.
-Several PTR–200 fiber recoaters and proof testers for manual and high-volume optical fiber processing.
