| SYMETRIE grows taller
SYMETRIE grows taller
To address major projects, SYMETRIE is constructing a new building of 400 sq.m. and 9 meters high, adjacent to the existing premises of 600 sq.m. in the south of France.
This extension is first intended to mount and characterize tall hexapods. These robots with six actuators will be used to simulate swell in order to train maritime crews or to test resistance to hydrodynamic forces.
It will also house an additional meeting room and offices.
The delivery of this new building is planned for summer 2012.
Creation of a clean room
To cope with rising demands for space and optics applications, an ISO 7 clean room will be installed to minimize the presence of particles such as dust to enable the integration of "clean" and vacuum compatible hexapods. |
| SYMETRIE announces Telescope Mirror Positioner
SYMETRIE has been selected by the telescope manufacturer AMOS to develop an innovative mirror positioning system.
Telescopes world is moving. Telescopes are more and more powerful in order to see further and more accurately. Optical performances have been improved. As a consequence, telescopes manufacturers are looking after improved mirror positioning performances. Mirror positioning impacts directly telescope overall performances.
SYMETRIE, specialist in metrology and positioning, is a Hexapod world leading manufacturer. SYMETRIE has been selected by the telescope manufacturer AMOS to develop a new positioning system based on the hexapod technology.
After a 6 months technical review and collaboration with the customer, SYMETRIE had been able with its technology to reach the demanding specifications regarding high accuracy and resolution.
SYMETRIE achievement has highly participated in the AMOS project. AMOS can install its giant telescope in full confidence at ARIES site in India.
SYMETRIE has a strong know how in supplying systems dedicated to optical applications. For example, SYMETRIE hexapods are also used by operators for assembling satellites. SYMETRIE has developed for such applications positioning systems achieving 1µm accuracy.
SYMETRIE exhibits at the Astronomical conference from 24th to 26th of June in Marseille, booth n°233.
