SPECTRAL EVOLUTION to display new spectroradiometers and spectrometers at SPIE Optics + Photonics 2011
North Andover, MA – August 16, 2011 – SPECTRAL EVOLUTION will be unveiling two new spectroradiometers later this month at SPIE Optics + Photonics 2011 in San Diego. Capitalizing on its 7 year reputation as a worldwide OEM provider of superior full range field portable spectroradiometers, SPECTRAL EVOLUTION announces a new lower cost portable laboratory spectroradiometer designed for quantitative measurement of light sources, including solar simulators, street lamps, commercial lighting, automotive lighting, LEDs and lasers. The newly launched SR-1600 lab spectroradiometer is a lightweight, dual detector instrument featuring both a Silicon photodiode array and an InGaAs photodiode array to allow simultaneous detection of 300-1700nm spectral range with one easy, fast measurement. With a list price of $19,995, the SR-1600 represents an affordable, rugged and compact “single-box” alternative to setups that require the tedious integration of multiple spectrometer boxes to measure the UV, VIS, and NIR spectral range from 300-1700nm.
The recently released SR-1600 comes complete with a fiber optic cable and cosine-corrected right angle diffuser for easy setup. It can also be purchased with a variety of input optics, such as lenses for varying target sizes, fiber optics, custom sampling probes and integrating spheres. A companion version (SM-1600) is also available as a general purpose spectrometer for reflectance, transmittance and absorbance measurements of solids, powders and thin films. All units feature auto-exposure settings and automatic dark currents with an integral shutter for rapid one-touch operation.
For convenient field portable operation, SPECTRAL EVOLUTION announces its latest addition, the PSR-1100, a lightweight, rugged handheld spectroradiometer for field portable, remote sensing applications in environmental science. The PSR-1100 features a high performance 512 element Si photodiode array for superior sensitivity and performance at 320-1100nm spectral range. It features a high capacity rechargeable Li-Ion slide-in battery for 4 hours of continuous operation and internal memory for 2500 scans. The PSR-1100 can be ordered with either a 4 degree FOV optic or 1 meter fiber optic cable for measurements of soils, crops, forest canopies and more. Both models feature a low introductory price of $12,995. Both units contain diffraction grating-based optics with no moving parts for increased reliability. An arm based processing system, wireless Bluetooth communication allow complete untethered operation, data download and measurement flexibility.
SPECTRAL EVOLUTION’s exclusive DARWin SP Data Analysis software package is included with each instrument so you can take advantage of analysis features including
classification of solar simulators’ spectral match per ASTM E927-05 and IEC 60904-9, flexible photometric energy calculations, real time calculation of vegetative indices and more.
SPECTRAL EVOLUTION will be exhibiting at SPIE Optics + Photonics 2011 in the San Diego Convention Center from August 23-25, booth number 317. SPECTRAL EVOLUTION will also be displaying its newly upgraded line of near infrared lab spectrometers. These units feature diffraction-based optics and TE-cooled extended InGaAs photodiode arrays for superior performance in the 1.0- 2.5µm range.
About SPECTRAL EVOLUTION
Established in 2004, SPECTRAL EVOLUTION is a leading manufacturer of laboratory and handheld portable spectrometers, spectroradiometers and spectrophotometers. SPECTRAL EVOLUTION spectrometers are used worldwide for many mission-critical lab, field and on-line process assignments due to their reliable, robust, rugged design and user-friendly one-touch features. Dennis Witz, founder and President, was previously responsible for leading spectrometer R&D for many leading companies in the remote sensing and analytical instruments fields. As the Biomedical Systems Group Leader at PerkinElmer, he led the development of spectrophotometer and spectrometer systems for Life Science, Clinical Diagnostic, and Industrial On-line Process Monitoring instrumentation. At Geophysical & Environmental Research Corp. (GER), along with advancing the airborne hyper-spectral imaging platform, he developed the GER family of array based, full range (UV, Vis, and NIR), field portable spectroradiometers, including the GER1500, GER2600, and GER3700 instruments.
SPECTRAL EVOLUTION maintains a facility in North Andover, Massachusetts which houses all operations including, design, prototyping, manufacturing and in-house repair facilities for the instruments that it markets and sells worldwide, either through direct sales, OEM sales or through distributor agents. SPECTRAL EVOLUTION also maintains state of the art spectral, spectral radiance and spectral irradiance calibration facilities for periodic calibration of equipment in the UV, VIS, NIR and SWIR wavelength regions.
