Fused silica scan lens for short pulses
Short pulse (SP) and ultra-short pulse laser (USP) demand due to their high beam quality and peak intensity optimized f-Theta lenses. Mainly fused silica lenses are used to increase the damage threshold of the f-theta lens, because the damage threshold of fused silica is significantly higher compared to standard glass and show less thermal effects. Further, internal ghosts inside the lens elements or the scanning mirrors have to be avoided.

Sill Optics offers a quasi-telecentric F-Theta lens optimized for SP and USP laser with a focal length of 163 mm. The incident angle of the laser beam is at the edge of 90 mm x 90 mm large scan field less than 5 °. Optimized for the wavelength range of 515 nm - 545 nm (S4LFT3161/292), the minimum spot size in the scan field is about 15 µm, with a beam diameter of 10 mm.
For the range within infrared from 1030 nm - 1090 nm we offer the S4LFT3162/328. For a beam diameter of 15 mm the spot size is about 20 µm.

In order to achieve even smaller spots, a telecentric lens is designed with a focal length of 100 mm suited for a 10 mm beam. It realizes at a field size of 35 mm x 35 mm an incidence angle of 1.4 °. The S4LFT4010/292 is optimized for a wavelength range of 515 nm - 545 nm and reaches a spot size of about 9 µm. The S4LFT4010/328 is designed for the infrared range from 1030 nm - 1090 nm and has a spot size of about 18 µm.

Zoom beam expander with fused silica 1x – 5x
Sill Optics extends the beam expanders with fused silica lenses by a zoom beam expander. The magnification ranges continuously from 1 to 5. The beam diameter should not exceed
6 mm and is limited by the output aperture of 20 mm at higher magnifications ratios.

In addition to the standard anti reflection coating for 532 nm (S6EXZ6075/121) a low absorption coating covering 515 nm to 545 nm (S6EXZ6075/292) is available.

F-theta lenses for 1550 nm and 1908 nm
Laser emitting from 1500 nm play a major role in medical applications. In addition, they are used in applications as micro machining of precious metal, ceramics and glass as well as in plastic welding. Laser sources as Erbium fiber lasers (Er:YAG) supply laser light with wavelengths from 1530 nm to 1600 nm with high brightness. Sill Optics offers beam expanders as well as f-theta lenses for these lasers. The expander series EXP comprises magnifications factors of 2x, 3x and 5x. For the scan lenses, a 115 mm (focal length) scan lens (S4LFT3100/008) and a 250 mm (focal length) scan lens (S4LFT2250/008) made of fused silica lenses are available. The S4LFT3100/008 provides a scan field of 80 mm x 80 mm with a 6 mm beam. The S4LFT2250/008 is suitable for a 10 mm beam diameter and enables a field of approx. 160 mm x 160 mm. In addition a telecentric scan lens with a focal length of 165 mm, the S4LFT5163/008, is available. This f-theta lens comprises standard glass lenses and is able to focus a 15 mm beam onto a 73 mm x 73 mm scan field.
Another typical wavelength is 1908 nm. The lens assembly S6ASS2030 has a high NA (about 0.25). The lens can be used as collimator or focusing lens. For increasing the beam diameter beam expanders with magnification factors of 1.8x, 2.2x and 5x are available. For processing an area, two telecentric scan lenses are offered. The S4LFT1956 with focal length of 56 mm provides a scan field of 20 mm x 20 mm. The S4LFT1900 with a focal length of 100 mm enables a scan area of 60 mm x 60 mm. Both lenses are suitable for a 10 mm beam diameter (1/e²).
