For more than 50 years, SAVIMEX has been one of the leading European companies in the transformation of plastic to produce high-precision components, and more precisely optics. More than 20 tons a month of thermoplastic polymer materials are transformed. SAVIMEX will present some of its thermoplastic optics components at Photonics West 2009 in San Jose, Calif., from Jan. 27 to 29, on the French Pavilion Hall 3 at booth 1615.
SAVIMEX is a specialist for the design and the manufacturing of optical components in thermoplastic polymer materials (PC, PMMA, COC, COP, PEI) by injection, for optical thin film coatings and for opto-mechanical subsystem assemblies. SAVIMEX markets are face shields and visors for personal protection, and prisms, lenses, windows, and diffractive components for industry and defense.
The company also proposes ultra-precision machining by diamond turning technology with four advanced diamond machining systems. The markets of diamond turning are optical molds, optical and mechanical components in nonferrous materials (silicon, germanium, ZnS, aluminum, etc.) for industry, defense, space, and astronomy.
Also SAVIMEX has developed a range of omni-directional sensors for 360° picture capture. Software allows picture analysis and processing (display of a full panoramic picture).
