P&P Optica
Company Description
P&P Optica Inc. is a supplier of cost effective, high performance optical spectrometers, transmission volume gel gratings (also known as volume phase holographic gratings), cameras, fibre optic bundles, gratings and software. We take pride in working with our clients and in the exceptional service we provide. With our spectrometer, you no longer have to imagine a world where you can wave a portable device over an object to get its detailed spectrum.
Volume Gel Gratings (VGG) are the core component of P&P Optica’s spectrometer, and enable easy use in a wide variety of biomedical, industrial research applications. We are pleased to announce that the company has built a state of the art lab in the Waterloo facility in 2011. With our exceptional expertise in low noise holographic and optical systems, P&P Optica is now poised to deliver the highest quality transmission VGG components in the market, all at reasonable cost.
In order to serve our customers even better, P&P Optica is focused on exceptional engineering, ease of adaptation and cost reduction. We can provide spectrometers from few to multiple units, and together with our manufacturing partners we can match our client’s needs exactly. We are looking forward to the release of our high performance, quantitative hand-held Raman systems early in 2012.
Do not hesitate to talk to us if you have a problem that requires a spectrometer that is sensitive, fast, small, flexible and cost effective.

| P&P Optica Makes Holographic Gel Gratings Available to General Market High Efficiency, Low Scattering Gratings
Waterloo (Ontario) CANADA, January 23, 2012 – P&P Optica Inc., a world leader in the development of high performance spectrometers, announced today it is now making its holographic gel gratings — a key component in the company’s industry-leading spectrometers – independently available for broad market sale.
P&P Optica’s holographic gel gratings produce no ghost effects, meaning all photons of a particular wavelength are diffracted to only a single area of the detector. Scatter effects often seen in scanning or reflective systems are eliminated by the P&P Optica design. In addition, transmission optics are designed to produce as few aberrations as possible. Multiple wavelength photons are diffracted in the same way whether at the center or edge of the detector - eliminating washing-out of sharp peaks and peak overlap on the entire detector.
The holographic gel gratings are available for purchase as a standalone offering, or bundled with P&P Optica’s line of spectroscopy products, including the company’s newly released Iris advanced spectroscopic data analysis and acquisition software suite.
About P&P Optica P&P Optica specializes in high performance spectroscopy systems. These systems are based on the Company’s high efficiency holographic gel transmission gratings and design optics, which when combined enable a line of spectroscopy products that provide the highest efficiency and lowest distortion available in the market today. P&P Optica’s spectrometers allow customers to measure very small concentrations of substances, significantly lower than other available systems on the market today, and as a result enable significantly higher quality spectra. In addition, the company’s systems are modular so they can be easily tailored to meet customer requirements. To find out more call us at 1-800-706-3811 or visit our website: www.ppo.ca.

| P&P Optica Announces Iris, Advanced Spectroscopic Data Analysis and Acquisition Software Suite Easy to Use Advanced Data Processing Capabilities Enhance Spectrometer Performance
Waterloo (Ontario) CANADA, January 23, 2012 – P&P Optica Inc., a world leader in the development of high performance spectrometers, announced today the release of Iris, a suite of powerful new data analysis software products aimed at improving the usability of spectroscopic instruments. The Iris software suite is available for P&P Optica’s industry leading spectroscopy products as well as other spectroscopic platforms in use today.
Iris delivers advanced data processing techniques that previously required complex scripting and mathematical processing, and makes those user requirements available in a sleek and intuitive visual interface. The software suite includes features such as: automatic calibration, aberration correction, automatic channel detection, automatic peak detection and hyperspectral data set creation.
The software team at P&P Optica set out to design a software platform that would provide the spectroscopy industry with powerful performance and functionality, delivered through an intuitive, easy to use interface. “This software platform provides unprecedented performance and usability for the spectroscopy market,” says Olga Pawluczyk, President and CEO of P&P Optica. “We look forward to continuing to work closely with our customers and partners to further develop advanced software, hardware products and gratings for the optical spectroscopy market. "
Iris is available for purchase bundled with the company’s line of spectroscopy products, or as a standalone software platform for integration with other common spectroscopy platforms in use in the market today.
