| CtP: Computer to Plate - Array
Lumics GmbH Berlin takes a step into the CtP market and announces a new, revolutionary array: 8-, 16-, or 32-folded spots for CtP machines. The CtP-head is all fiber based and hermetically sealed. Due to efficient thermal management, passive cooling is sufficient. Beside an electrical connector no further media are needed. The array head can be mounted easily onto a motion stage since the design of the housing is ultra-compact.
Each array spot can be addressed individually and modulated in the MHz-regime. Due to single emitter architecture a life time for each individual diode is guaranteed with over 100.000h. Nevertheless, since the array is build up with 8, 16, or 32 diode lasers, each diode can be exchanged in a very unlikely event of failure and reduce service costs significantly.

| 120W Industrial Laser
Lumics GmbH Berlin, has added a new entry to its line of materials processing lasers. The latest release is a 120W laser at 980nm or 1064 nm out of a 200µm fiber, designed for industrial uses like micro-welding, soldering or engraving.
The 120W laser is based on individual, hermetically sealed diodes, coupled into a combiner with a 200µm fiber, NA 0.22 output. These diodes are carefully packed in an industrial-style, sealed housing with a small footprint, and designed to work in an integrated system or machine. The overall design is fiber based. No free space optics are used in the laser. This makes the laser ideally suited for additional applications such as processing materials like plastics, thin foils or textiles.
The laser is actively air-cooled or with tap water. No micro channels (DI water) are necessary. Red pilot beam, monitor diodes and thermistors provide all necessary process feedback info. This robust and reliable laser head is designed to provide flexibility for various industrial tasks. Due to the architecture, another benefit is a very competitive price for OEM quantities.
